AIDSMAP - The National AIDS Manual information website.

Extensive UK based website covering many aspects of HIV information including medical, social and epidemiological, aimed at both professionals and PLWHA. Has excellent downloadable and printable fact sheets on a variety of topics including managing specific symptoms. Searchable database of professionals and organisations.

AEGIS

A very informative patient centred website with an array of useful information.

AVERT website

Another very useful information website, that includes many online versions of AVERT’s publications including those concerning dementia, young people, nutrition and treatments.

ACET: AIDS Care, Education and Training

Provides HIV/AIDS community support, preventative education and professional training.

Excellent website with up to date information and interactive videos and tutorials.

UK based information on HIV related medical advances.

Agencies and organisations

The Terrance Higgins Lighthouse Trust website

"THT" as it known is the peak HIV voluntary agency in then UK and is involved in a number of initiatives at all levels of the epidemic. This website gives details of THT/Lighthouse’s services and includes online versions of some of their publications.

Ensuring Positive Futures Vocational / return to work agency

This is a pan-London agency that provides support and information to people with HIV who want to look at their work, study or other vocational options. They are keen to work with Occupational Therapists and operate out of several locations across the HIV voluntary sector in the UK.

Search under "HIV" on this site for the most recent and extensive data on HIV transmission and prevalence region by region in the UK. The annual reports is called the Survey of Prevalence of HIV Disease (SOPHID). (The HPA used to be known as the Public Health Laboratory Service)
